Baltimore Ravens WR Jacoby Jones Set to Join Dancing With the Stars

From the gridiron to the dance floor, Baltimore Ravens WR/KR Jacoby Jones is scheduled to appear on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars this season. Jones expressed interest in the show earlier this month on Jimmy Kimmel Live. When asked if he would like to be on the show, Jones responded: “do polar bears poo on ice?” The network confirmed Jones’ appearance in a commercial that aired during the Oscars. The remaining cast will be announced on Tuesday on Good Morning America. The show’s 16th season will debut March 18.

Jones’ dance moves (and speed) have been on display all season each time he returns a punt/kick for a touchdown. Most notably in Super Bowl XXLVII when Jones paid tribute to Ray Lewis by performing his signature “squirrel dance” in the end zone after a record-setting (108 yards) kickoff return at the start of the second half. Jones also regularly appeared in (and won) an NFL Network segment called “Dancing with the Starters.”

Jones is set to make $3 Million in 2013 and his appearance on Dancing with the Stars will cause him to miss most of the Ravens off-season workouts. It will be interesting to see how both Jones and the team approach this.

Dancing with the Stars is no stranger to NFL Players. Former Dallas Cowboys running back Emmitt Smith, Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward and Green Bay Packers wide receiver Donald Driver have all competed on the show and won.

Needless to say Jones is having quite the year.
