• How to Find the Right Red Lipstick for You

  
  I thought I could never pull off the classic look of red lips but I learned it's all about finding the right shade!  I was a bit skeptical when attempting to look for one that would fit me and I searched around and found some tips to help you find your right shade.
  
  - If your skin is fair: choose a blue-based like cool crimson (Mac's "Russian Red")
  
  - If your skin is olive: try an orange-based color like a fire-engine red (Mac's Pro Longwear Lipcreme in "Extended Play to Shop") 
  
  - If you have a darker complexion: wear a deep, burgundy red. ( Clinique Colour Surge lipstick #207, Burgundy Bronze) 
  
  

  If you still have trouble finding that certain shade try to mix colors! You don't have to necessarily find the exact perfect shade in one lipstick. Blending is a great way to experiment with different shades of red and may help you find your own unique and complementing color.
  
  
  However, skin color does tend to change depending on external and personal factors, so you can also try to match your right shade by using your eyes. 

  For light brown, hazel, or green eyes: Try an orange-red lipstick since it brings out the brown-toned specks. (Stila's "Charlotte")

  For blue eyes: Swipe on a fiery bright red lipstick to play up the coolness of blue eyes. (Maybelline's "Red Revival")

  For dark brown eyes: Berry-red lipstick accentuates the mahogany and purple tones. (Clarin's "Joli Rouge" 
  
  Remember to use lip liner on the inside of your lips since the color tends to fade out. You could also put lip liner as the first coat by itself and lipstick over it for lasting wear or use the blotting method.
  
  Since your lips will be the main focus keep your eyes simple with neutral shadows or doing the classic cat-eye look.
